THIS PAGE IS UNDER REVIEW Our P.D. programme offers a wide range of professional development opportunities for all teachers of science; sessions have ranged from lectures on science content and educational pedagogy to hands on activities being shared by classroom teachers. $1 000 from Roger Bartell Education Trust is available to a SEA*ACT member to support their participation in projects aimed at developing an awareness of science in primary and secondary students.
Projects might include:
- attendance at conferences such as CONASTA 2007 (Perth)
- development of units of work or courses
- publishing of materials
In return for financial support provided by the Roger Bartell Education Trust, beneficiaries are asked to provide: - a one or two page conference report for publishing in the newsletter
- the units of work prepared
- the curriculum materials for publishing
Depending on the project to be undertaken applicants should in two pages or less:
- outline the project and show how it relates to the aim of the trust
- list the benefits for your students and SEA*ACT
- be costedie travel and accomodation costs, or administrative costs and publicaton costs
- include a timetable for the project

ANU Public Lectures for SCIENCE WEEK http://cos.anu.edu.au/News/Science_Week_2008/Canberra.php CONSEA*ACTTBACONSEA*ACT is the annual conference of the Science Educators' Association of the ACT (SEA*ACT). It is run for teachers of science from the ACT and surrounding region in all school sectors with support from CSIRO. This year, Australian Science Innovations will also be supporting the conference by providing the keynote speaker.
