SEA*ACT is the Science Educators' Association of the ACT representing professional teachers of science and those who work in related fields. SEA*ACT membership consists of teachers from preschool to tertiary levels, lab assistants and collegial members. SEA*ACT is a federated member of the Australian Science Teachers Association (ASTA).

SEA*ACT is an active professional association running many events and programs for teachers of science. SEA*ACT organises the annual ACT Science Fair, the SPECTRA Science Awards and Family Science (FASPACT). SEA*ACT supports the Australian Science Festival and National Science Week.

Celebrate the 400th anniversary of Galileo's discovery of the four large moons of Jupiter. Your chance to see Jupiter and its moons through the telescopes of Canberra Astronomical Society (much more powerful than Gallileo's). Location is at the historic Mt Stromlo Observatory, near the Visitors centre.
The event is weather dependent, clouds or rain will prevent viewing. Dress warmly.
No booking needed, gold coin donation welcomed.

3. New Competition

 WetlandCare Australia National Art and Photography Competition 2010

To celebrate World Wetlands Day 2010, an international event proclaimed by the United Nations, WetlandCare Australia has organised an Australia-wide art and photography competition offering categories for children and adults.
The organisers are seeking works on paper exploring the theme of wetlands, biodiversity and climate change. Closing date for entries is 4 December 2009.
The winning works will be used by WetlandCare Australia to promote wetlands and the work of WetlandCare Australia.
